Our style is inspired by an extraordinary musical genre that had its heyday during the 30s especially in France.
It all started when the genius of the great guitarist Django Reinhardt brought forth a new sound that contained all the intensity of gypsy music and the charm of jazz.
Later this was called in several ways: gypsy jazz, gypsy swing, swing Manouche, Parisian swing, hot club music.
The main features are a relentless bass and guitars rhythm section, and virtuoso melodies that go along with it, all within an atmosphere of great involvement.
This music is often revived almost unchanged and it still exerts its enduring charm.
The repertoire of Oncle Archibald includes the most remarkable traditional gypsy swing and several original songs, which are our personal interpretation of the gypsy style.
